Five crows in the sky,

Guardians of ancient tales,

Honor binds their flight.

The Herd of Samurai Crows took up the battlegrounds of Makuri Islands for a stunning display of bravery, discipline, order and honor! Having Yatagarasu as our spiritual guidance, much in accordance with the legend of Amaterasu and Emperor Jimmu, our brave Samurai, nearly turned Ronin, withered through pain, suffering and much amusement in the search of gratification for a race well done!

Initially the black feathered flock was made of 6 components. Alas, fate was not on our side, and it also seemed that the Black Samurai efforts would be doomed given that we lost our beloved Captain Brock to the dreadful illness-that-must-not-be-named, our resident reporter and sub-par co-Captain Senna to complicated assortment involving work-related management, and our most endearing Gravity King Holgate to a much-needed Dad Duty time.

At this point, the 3 remaining Karasu Samurai were left leaderless, effective Ronin, and talking of desertion was becoming louder in chat. Hellesøy had volunteered to act as Yatagarasu and lead the Black Samurai onto an epic battle, but moral was running low. As if guided by Amaterasu herself, the great Winn decided to join the ranks and increase Crowly battle lines! In the nick of time, Senna was relieved of his work-related shenanigans and made into the pen to secure the 5 Samurai Karasu!

With the constant guidance, motivation and support of our on-duty Captain Yatagarasu Hellesøy, our brave Samurai began their stunning efforts amidst Suki’s Playground in an epic display of courage and discipline. Pulls were done mostly by the leading Crows, Hellesøy and Senna, and pace was set to honor the late memory of Suki in her own playground!

Yet, battle horn sounded in the hills as the first engagement dawned in the horizon! The Samurai were looking to fight their way into Matsumoto’s Castle to subjugate their leader and take back their Karasu home! As the incline crept up, the Crow Samurai withstood the barrage of pain with great intent, Yaris and Naginatas on hand ready to repel the invaders! The Samurai reached the summit as one, guided by Yatagarasu Hellesøy and behind the wheels of the resident climber Senna, with much help from remaining Crow Samurai Harper, Winn and Wendy!

Alas, the first attack launched by the feathered Samurai was a fluke. It so happens that Matsumoto’s Castle was guarded by dreadful U~onbatto (also known as Wombats), so a second attempt would be required to take back the Karasu’s home! Gliding through the descents, and into the flat valleys, the Samurai sharpened their Naginatas, readied their Katanas, and secured arrows on their Yumi, compelled to make the second attempt count. They even made short effort of the counterattack launched by the U~onbatto just before their second run.

On the second round up the battlefield, the Samurai were sharper than ever! With renewed strength, and the feathered beaks aimed at the prize of victory, greatness and honor, the Black Flock of Samurai took even more care into their pulling rotations, now with great help of our blobing birds Harper, Winn and Wendy. The second attack up Matsumoto’s Castle saw a great victory for the Black Flock of Samurai, without losing a single member and honoring the great memory of Suki! Our Karasu home was secured, and we knew only a slight effort was needed to secure all-round victory in this Battle! The U~onbatto fought hard and strong to defend their established territory, but the Black Samurai were having none of it! Scaling the battlements and taking the castle by assault was the devised strategy, which was perfectly executed by a coordinated and will powered by the flock of Murderous Crows!

When reaching the finishing line with 58m19s, the Black Flock of Samurai looked back and rejoiced on the victory achieved on that day! What a great battle had been fought, what a great effort was performed by all members! Honor, duty, discipline, courage were just a few of the virtues displayed by the Black Samurai, always under the constant guidance of our great Yatagarasu Hellesøy, and with the divine intervention of Amaterasu to secure the great victory!

Crows, Samurai, friends. It was an honor to fight, cry, plead, sweat and bleed by your side! I can safely say that Matsumoto’s Castle is once again ours, that Suki was certainly honored, and that Amaterasu and Emperor Jimmu were proud of our effort!
